Force, Motion and Energy Vocabulary Cards focuses on 70+ science terms, with vocabulary cards in 3 different formats. Spanish terms on each card support English-language learners and dual language classrooms.
Fully aligned to Texas standards (TEKS) for middle school, this resource was created to support Texas teachers as you implement the new science TEKS in the 2024-2025 school year. While created with Texas classroom teachers in mind, it is an excellent addition to any middle grades physics unit, whether in a traditional classroom or homeschool setting.
Each of the 70+ cards comes in three versions:
(1) Complete Cards consist of a science term in English and Spanish, definition, and illustration.
(2) Definition and Illustration Only Cards consist of the same definition and illustration without the science term or Spanish translation. A page listing all terms is included and can be used as an answer key.
(3) Terms Only Cards consist of the same term and Spanish translation without the definition or illustration.
The three different card formats provide flexibility to introduce, reinforce, and review science vocabulary in a variety of ways, including:
- interactive notebooks - glue/tape cards into students' science journal as new vocabulary is introduced
- vocabulary sort - ask students to organize groups of cards to show their understanding of connections among terms and concepts
- student-created flashcards - have students add definitions and their own illustrations to reinforce and enhance understanding of concepts
- small group bingo - give students a set of cards and copies of our free printable bingo sheet for a student-led game
- matching/memory games - combines set for interactive review
